This blog is dedicated to my late father Goh Chiak Sia who sold Levi’s denim in the 60’s to 80’s in North Bridge Road, right next to Odeon Theatre. In fact he had told me about history of Levi’s Strauss long before it was widely known. He handed me a raw denim Levi’s jacket when I was 12. My very first pair of 501 jeans was 1986 when I could afford it myself during my National Service.
I’ve always enjoy painting since young. I was trained in Chinese painting under the tutelage of Tan Oe Pang when I was 10 to 12 years old.
I entered advertising in 1992. That Christmas time my father passed away.
I enjoy every second in advertising and you can view my work perrygoh.com.
In 2009 I started painting on denim.
Every pair of hand painted denim in this blog is based on different era of 20’s, 40’s, 50’s or 60’s. Or based on the origin of the jeans. It gives the jeans a story. And uniquely yours.
Thank God for all the ideas He has given me † perrygoh.blogspot.com
If you are interested to have your denim jeans painted by me, please drop me your name and contact.
Thank you and God Bless †
